My favorite Kindle Unlimited Books

There are many books we could borrow or download via Kindle Unlimited. I have read quite a few and hope to give you a glimpse of each story.

Colleen Hoover Books: Regretting you, Reminders of Him, Layla, and Heart Bones.

Regretting you: Morgan, the main character, becomes pregnant at 17 from Chris, her boyfriend. She had a crush on his best friend Jonah who was dating her sister Jenny. But they never do anything. She marries Chris and has her daughter Clara. After 17 yrs Chris, her husband dies in a car accident while her sister is with him and this is how she finds out about their affair because her sister was supposed to be starting work again instead of hanging out with Chris. Her daughter, Clara, catches her mother kissing Jonah a couple of months after the funeral, and Clara assumes that her mother and Jonah have been having this affair during her mother’s marriage. In the end, Clara finds out the truth about the affair between her father and her aunt and feels sorry for her mother, and starts to accept Jonah.

Reminders of Him: This book is about a woman who makes a car accident with her boyfriend in the passenger’s seat and he dies hours later. She thought he was dead right away and therefore she leaves him there and goes back to her apartment stoned and drunk and is charged with murder; therefore she serves in prison and returns to shorten her years of the sentence by giving up her baby which she became pregnant in prison with to her in-Laws. The story rotates around her trying to get back to her daughter’s life and how her in-laws forbid that. She meets her boyfriend’s best friends by chance and they fall in love and he becomes the link between her and her in-laws.

Layla: This is a thriller. It is about a musician who meets Layla, a very spontaneous creature, and falls in love with her. But they both got shot by a crazy fan who is in love with him and he shoots her back killing her. He takes Layla to the place they first met for a vacation and there starts the action. The house is haunted by a soul which only interacts with the guy.

Heart Bones: This story is about a poor girl who was raised by her addicted mother who passes away. Then the girl moves in with her father who she knew almost nothing about and she falls in love with the neighbor who is supposedly rich. Many facts start to become revealed little by little from how her father thought she lived and from how the rich guy isn’t rich at all.

Mariana Zapata: Wait for it, and All Rhodes Lead Here

Wait for it: Diana raises her two nephews because her brother died. She is spontaneous and jumps in to save her neighbor’s brother from three people circling him to beat him up. And this is how she met Dallas, the neighbor. He becomes Josh’s coach, her nephew, and their grateful neighbor becomes a very helpful neighbor and very concerned neighbor. He gets divorced and after that, he tells Diana that he loves her. So she understands at last that he was waiting for the divorce to tell her the truth of how he felt towards her while she was trying to assure him all the time that she wasn’t trying to get in his pants as many other women were trying throughout the story.

All Rhodes Lead Here: It is about a woman, Aurora, who is trying to get over her past relationship with a famous artist who had a very controlling mother and who hated her guts. The mother made sure that Aurora was out of her son’s life although she was the one who wrote all his songs for him which were successful. So she moves out to the place she used to be at with her mother to restore memories. Her mother used to hike a lot and disappeared one day during her hike as Aurora was a child. She was then raised by her relatives.
The new apartment she had booked online was offered by Amos, the son of Rhodes, the landlord, without Rhodes knowing. So after Amos tried to convince his dad and Aurora offered triple the pay he agreed to allow her to stay for a month and then she should move out.
She finds a job with her old friend Clara who owned an equipment shop for fishing and camping stuff. She sucked at it at first but then because she saves Amos by rushing him to the hospital so she becomes a favor in return from Rhodes by learning from him all that she needed to know about camping and fishing.
Then little by little the ice between her and Rhodes starts to melt and her past relationship interferes from time to time with her life becoming revealed to Rhodes and Amos and causing some frustration.

Ella Maise: To Hate Adam Connor.

Lucy, stalking Adam Connor, spots his son Aiden throwing himself into the pool and almost drowning. She walks up the ladder she was watching them from and gets to Adam’s backyard and saves Aiden. Adam at first calls the cops on her for stalking. She explains to him that his son was about to drown and she saved him but he doesn't believe her. She hates him at first but then the hate turns to love. She is next door staying at Olive’s, her best friend, and Jason’s, Olive’s husband and who is an actor too like Connor, place after she had to leave the apartment she shared with her ex. Adam’s ex-wife tries to win Aiden’s custody from Adam and fails in the end.

Lucy Score: Things We Never Got Over.

Noami, Tina’s Twin, runs away from her wedding and runs to help Tina who told her she needed money to get out of some situation. As Noami arrived to meet her in the Cafe, Tina stole her car outside and ran through her things at the motel, and stole all the cash. At the Cafe, Naomi meets everyone who hated Tina by being insulted herself since they mixed up with them and also Knox, the brother of policeman Nash, who wanted to drag her out of the Cafe at first but then after he finds out that she is Tina's twin, tries to help her track her sister and from there begins their story from haters to lovers.

Laila Ibrahim: Golden Poppies.

Mattie is dying, so Jordan, a teacher and Mattie’s daughter, sends Lisabeth a letter to come say her farewells before she dies.
Lisabeth was taken care of by Mattie, who was an Afro-American.
Mattie was once a slave and hid her identity to survive and keep her children from becoming slaves themselves. We are talking around the 1800s.
So Lisabeth comes along with her daughter Sadie all the way from Oakland to say her goodbyes to Mattie in California.
After Mattie died Jordan and her daughter Naomi moved to Oakland. Her son Malcolm, although an attorney, worked at the train station with Willie, who because of his light texture passed as white and worked secretly as so.
Willie falls in love with Naomi and Jordan rejected their relationship at first afraid of what his concealed truth might bring Naomi of trouble.
Sadie, married to a German called Heinrich, finally gives birth to May, her daughter, on the train on her way back to Oakland, and Naomi helped her give birth.
Her husband goes to Hawaii for many months leaving them yearning in his depts so she had to give up the house and move with Sam, her brother, and Diana.
After her husband returned he threatened to hurt his daughter if Sadie is not obedient to his wishes to move to Hawaii. This is when she planned on hiding away from him when they were traveling and she hides at Naomi’s.
The women of color fight for their rights and for the right for women to vote throughout the story with little hope at the end.

Theresa Driscoll: I Will Make You Pay.

Alice, a journalist, has a stalker who sends her threats every Wednesday. She successfully runs a story and is responsible for it being pushed to the politicians about demolishing a compound. Tom the stalker is her second boyfriend. Her first boyfriend turned out to be sleeping with his minor tutors from piano lessons, so after he was imprisoned and she finds out about his doings, she leaves him of course. Her mother is sick and her sister supports her and provides her shelter at her home during the stalking. Mathew a private investigator helps her every Wednesday to unravel the mystery of the stalker and ends up solving the mystery. Tom seeks revenge from Alice, or Jenny, her real name, because his gran commits suicide unwilling to give up living in the apartment.

N.S.Perkins: A Risk On Forever.

Abby walks into an interview where she was supposed to look after Helen, an old woman with a disability. Mathias, Helen’s son, saw Abby unsuitable for the job but Helen insisted that she’d take care of her. Mathias and Abby fall in love but with caution because he was her boss. They fall apart. After her death, Helen leaves them a bunch of letters that lead them to be together again.

Taylor Jenkins Reid: Maybe in Another Life.

A two-sided coin. Two versions of life are narrated to us to show us how one small detail can change the outcome. The main character has two choices either go home with her best friend or go with her ex. And each choice leads to a different version of the story.

I’m looking forward to reading more books as my TBR becomes bigger every day. I hope I did not give too much info. concerning the books in which you still feel excited to read them. Enjoy!
